When the clock strikes midnight on December 31, 2011. I will write down names, places and events that I wish to abandon and I will bring with me a clean luggage in my journey through 2012. I can write pages about the bad luck I had within this past year. I can list names of people who have betrayed me. I can tell you of the things I wish I had never said, the things I wish i would’ve said and the many regrets I have. One thing is certain, I have learned something valuable in the lyrics from CHESS The Musical “Nobody’s on Nobody’s Side”.
Starting over is hard, expecting others to empathize and lend you a hand is unrealistic. In the words of INTO THE WOODS, “Witches can be right, giants can be good, you decide what’s right, you decide what’s good. Just remember someone is on your side, someone else is not.” Our dream jobs aren’t always a dream and people aren’t what they seem. A birthday card can become negative and a source of ruin. A person you once looked up to as a kid can let you fall as an adult. People look out for themselves. A person who you have networked with in the past can be your ticket in and can become the person you had hoped others would be to you, they give you that rope you need, to not hang yourself as others have done, but to help you out of a deep dark well.
I am taking my negative energy that I have from 2011 and converting it into positive fuel which will allow me to re-energize and live up to my potential. This positive fuel will allow me to create my own project, a future business and partnership with others who support my endeavors and are dreamers too. I have nothing but hope! In the lyrics of SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE, “Move on, stop worrying where you’re going, if you know where you’re going, you’re gone. Just keep moving on”.
Happy New Year! May 2012 bring you the best in life, love and musicals!
